WEST SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -- Police have identified the suspect arrested in connection with two recent robberies in West Springfield.
West Springfield Police Sgt. Joe LaFrance said that officers were called to TD Bank on Riverdale Street Monday morning for a robbery.
Monday's robbery marks the third bank robbery in West Springfield in less than a week. On Thursday, a robbery took place at Arrha Credit Union on Park Avenue and on Friday, police were called to a robbery at Freedom Credit Union on Union Street.
Police said in the case of Friday and Monday's robbery, the suspect was a masked female who passed a note to a teller demanding money and threatened the teller with a gun, though no weapon was shown.
LaFrance said that the investigation led them to Wendi Rachel Young as a suspect. Investigators were able to locate her car in the parking lot of a Riverdale Street motel and she was arrested without incident in a common area.
Young is charged with two counts of armed robbery while masked.
