A crash involving a car and motorcycle closed down a Hadley intersection for a time Thursday.

Hadley Police Sgt. Mitchell Kuc said the 21-year-old male motorcyclist from Russell, who was wearing a helmet, was transported to Cooley Dickinson Hospital with injuries to his left side. Those injuries are described as non-life threatening.

The driver of the car, a 59-year-old South Hadley women, suffered minor injuries and was cited for failure to yield.

The area of North Lane and West Street was closed for a time because of that crash. It has since reopened.

Kuc noted that it is the second accident involving motorcycles that they had responded to in the past three weeks. He urged motorists to be aware of motorcycles on the roads as the weather gets nicer.
