(Meredith) - Dunkin' announced it will close 450 locations by the end of this year.
All of the stores that are permanently closing are located inside Speedway gas stations, ABC News reported.
"Dunkin’ reached an agreement with Speedway earlier this year to exit the approximately 450 Speedway owned and operated limited menu Dunkin’ locations along the east coast by the end of 2020," the company said in a statement.
The stores represented less than 0.5% of Dunkin's U.S. systemwide sales in 2019, according to TODAY.
Despite the closures, Dunkin' said it remains committed to growing its presence in gas station and convenience locations, as well as airports, universities, travel plazas and military installations.
The coffee and doughnut chain still has 8,500 restaurants in 41 states.
