LUDLOW, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -- Officials in Ludlow report that the alert level for the risk of Eastern Equine Encephalitis, or EEE, has been lowered.

As of Wednesday, the town said the risk level has been downgraded to 'moderate.'

It comes after seven human cases of EEE have been confirmed in the state and that one person has died.

Officials said even though the risk level has been lowered, you should still take steps to protect yourself from mosquitoes.
