In Holyoke, 500 white flags were placed for each life lost to COVID-19 in the city and surrounding areas.

HOLYOKE, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -- In Holyoke, 500 white flags were placed for each life lost to COVID-19 in the city and surrounding areas.

The flags are on display at the United Congregational Church of Holyoke.

The church held a short service Saturday afternoon to honor people in the community who have died.

The flags will stay up through the weekend.
