SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) -- A Holyoke man is under arrest after two reported robberies in Springfield.

Springfield Police spokesperson Ryan Walsh said that police responded to a reported armed robbery at Burger King on State Street around 3:15 p.m. Thursday.  

"An employee feared he was holding a weapon in his hand when he was robbing the restaurant," Walsh explained.

The suspect then fled with money from the register.

Around 6 p.m., officers were called to another reported robbery, this time at McDonald's on Page Blvd.

In that incident, the suspect tried to take money from the register.

Police were able to find the suspect's vehicle around 7:25 p.m.  A traffic stop was conducted and Walsh said that the suspect was positively identified.

Abdner Astor, 35, of Holyoke was arrested and charged with one count of armed robbery and one count of unarmed robbery.
