“We appreciate the hard work of the review team as well as all Holyoke Public School District staff members who participated in the review process,” Dr. Sergio Paez, Superintendent of Holyoke Schools said.

The District Review Report meeting was held in Malden, MA and contained 17 findings and six recommendations.

Positive findings about the district were reported in the following areas:

· Major steps taken to reorganize leadership, curriculum, and assessments to support this

vision

· Implementation of new educator evaluation system components

· Efforts to create a comprehensive and fully-aligned professional development system

· Student support services and programs

· Positive results in attendance, discipline, drop-out, and graduation rate data from 2013-

· Passing a budget that implemented major reorganization while addressing a major deficit

· Effective planning for and use of capital funds, and maintenance of our schools

“The review report clearly identifies many areas in which we have made major changes and are developing momentum to improve student achievement and outcomes in Holyoke,” Paez said.
