BOSTON (WGGB/WSHM) -- State officials have released new information in regards to coronavirus cases in the Bay State.

The Mass. Department of Public Health said that as of Friday, May 29, there were 95,512 confirmed cases in the Bay State, which is 617 new cases since Thursday.  

State officials noted that 571,745 people have been tested.

Of those total cases, 6,718 deaths are now being attributed to COVID-19.  That's 78 more deaths than reported on Thursday.

The county-by-county breakdown of cases is as follows:

  • Barnstable Co. - 1,303
  • Berkshire Co. - 544
  • Bristol Co. - 6,930
  • Dukes Co. - 26
  • Essex Co. - 13,994
  • Franklin Co. - 319
  • Hampden Co. - 5,942
  • Hampshire Co. - 853
  • Middlesex Co. – 20,972
  • Nantucket - 13
  • Norfolk Co. – 7,959
  • Plymouth Co. - 7,766
  • Suffolk Co. - 17,786
  • Worcester Co. - 10,816
  • Unknown - 289

By age group, Mass. DPH reported the following:

  • 19 or younger : 4,521 people
  • 20-29 : 12,580 people
  • 30-39 : 14,270 people
  • 40-49 : 13,689 people
  • 50-59 : 15,241 people
  • 60-69 : 12,441 people
  • 70-79 : 8,647 people
  • 80 and over: 13,882 people
