BOSTON (WGGB/WSHM) -- State officials have released new information in regards to coronavirus cases in the Bay State.

The Mass. Department of Public Health said that as of Tuesday, there were 1,159 confirmed cases in the Bay State.

Of those total cases, 11 deaths are being attributed to COVID-19.

Mass. DPH said that two additional deaths since Monday involve a woman in her 80s from Middlesex County and a woman in her 60s from Berkshire County. Both were hospitalized and had underlying health conditions.

The county-by-county breakdown is as follows:

  • Barnstable Co. - 40
  • Berkshire Co. - 37
  • Bristol Co. - 31
  • Dukes & Nantucket Co. - 2
  • Essex Co. - 118
  • Franklin Co. - 5
  • Hampden Co. - 24
  • Hampshire Co. - 8
  • Middlesex Co. - 304
  • Norfolk Co. - 129
  • Plymouth Co. - 64
  • Suffolk Co. - 234
  • Worcester Co. - 73
  • Unknown - 90

Mass. DPH noted that 94 people needed hospitalization, 313 did not need to be hospitalized, and 752 people are still under investigation.

By age group, Mass. DPH reported the following Monday: 

  • 19 or younger : 24 people
  • 20-29 : 188 people
  • 30-39 : 205 people
  • 40-49 : 214 people
  • 50-59 : 208 people
  • 60-69 : 153 people
  • 70 or older : 164 people
  • Unknown : 3 people

Of those 1,159 total cases, the state broke down the exposures as follows:

  • 99 - Biogen conference attendees and household contacts of those people
  • 120 - Local transmission
  • 86 - Travel-related
  • 854 - Under investigation
