A 27-year-old man was rushed to the hospital after a shooting in Springfield and it all occurred in broad daylight.

Springfield police Sgt. John Delaney says a man was shot standing near his car on Summit Street.

They say the victim then drove to the Sunoco gas station at the corner of Armory and Taylor streets.

He was then rushed to a local hospital with non life threatening injuries to his backside.

Police say he did undergo surgery and he is not cooperating with their investigation.

Police say the suspect ran after the shooting. They are looking for an Hispanic man possibly in his twenties wearing a black hooded sweatshirt.

A 20-year-old woman that was with the shooting victim has also been arrested.

Police say Chasity Saez was being questioned when officers asked her for ID and ended up seeing heroin and cocaine in her purse.

She was arrested for possession with intent to distribute.

Police say they believe the shooting could be drug related.
