Two Springfield residents are under arrest on drug charges following a weekend traffic stop.

Mass. State Police said that around 11:45 p.m. Saturday, a trooper pulled over a car for motor vehicle violations along I-91 north in Greenfield.

An investigation by State Police troopers, along with K-9s, found that that driver, 38-year-old Aaron Belcher of Springfield, and the passenger, 21-year-old Raven Sullivan of Springfield, were allegedly in possession of approximately 37 grams of cocaine and an open container of alcohol.

Both Belcher and Sullivan were arrested and charged with trafficking in cocaine, conspiracy to violate drug law, and possession of an open container of alcohol in a motor vehicle.

Belcher is facing additional charges of marked lanes violation and speeding, while Sullivan has an additional charge of failure to wear a seat belt.

Bail was set for both suspects at $5,000 pending arraignment Monday in Greenfield District Court.
