A driver has been cited after the tanker truck he was driving was involved in a crash that was caught on camera.

Bourne Police said that on Saturday, April 21, officers were called to a crash involving a tanker truck carrying 12,000 gallons of unleaded fuel along the southbound side of MacArthur Blvd.

The driver, a 63 year old man, allegedly told that a bird flew inside his vehicle and hit his head, which caused him to swerve.

"After viewing this very high quality dash cam taken by another motorists, officers were unable to confirm the operator’s account of the accident, observing the vehicle did not swerve and instead slowly traveled across multiple lanes without braking," police explained in a Facebook post.

The driver was cited for failure to stay within marked lanes and reckless operation of a motor vehicle.

No injuries were reported.
