West Springfield fire and police officials compete in annual 'Battle of the Badges'

The fifth annual Battle of the Badges blood drive was held earlier today.

The city's police and fire departments 'battled' It out, seeing who could rack up the most donors.

Donors had the chance to cast a vote for their favorite department.

Today's event was held at the public library.

West Springfield Police officials tell Western Mass News that, unfortunately, the Fire Department won the event, however.

In the end, it was for a good cause and everyone was a winner.
