Sylvain Lemieux is working double shifts to provide for his family. His wife is unable to work because of a disabling disease.
Looking for a way to help her husband, Lisa Lemieux reached out to our Western Mass News and Lia Auto Group Surprise Squad to give him a helping hand.
"I try to go out in the morning to do what I can for him, so that he can only do half the work," said Lisa Lemieux.
Lisa has been living with multiple sclerosis since she was 25.
"She's still walking, so we're doing pretty good, but you know, it's tough. She can't go to a job, so she hasn't worked for quite a while now," said Sylvain Lemieux.
Her husband, Sylvain, is working overtime to provide for their family.
"I'm working like 12 hours a day, six and seven days a week," Sylvain added.
Lisa explained, "I see what he does around the house and outside and all that and the lawn has been growing and he comes home from 12 hour shifts and push mows the lawn."
Lisa struggles with balance, sometimes falling in her home, but wanted to do something special for her husband, so the Western Mass News and Lia Auto Group Surprise Squad delivered.
We gave Acres Power Equipment a $500 check toward a new riding lawnmower and Acres covered the rest of that mower.
"Man, thank you guys. This is incredible, couldn't of came at a better time," Sylvain noted.
Now, Lisa will be able to use it too.
"I can't even thank you enough. I can't, it just, it just, I don't know. I don't even know what to say," Lisa said.
Connie Wiezbicki, owner of Acres Power Equipment, added, "Occasionally, we get the opportunity to do something like this to help people that are in need and an awful lot of people need help."
