(Meredith) -- Three friends and two dogs are safe after they were swept out to sea on an inflatable pink flamingo.

The incident happened on Saturday, June 5, in Kodiak, Alaska. The group was at a beach celebrating a 30th birthday when a strong wind blew them and their ten-foot raft out to sea.

After about an hour, the group landed on some offshore rocks. The United States Coast Guard was alerted to their situation and had to use a helicopter to rescue them.

No one was injured.
