It's going to be a cloudy and cool end to the weekend but at least today is dry. The cool weather will linger into tomorrow but it's going to be a wet start to the work week. Warmer and more humid air arrives on Tuesday.
High pressure will help keep us dry and cool today with highs in the middle to upper 60s. High clouds will be around again during the day and will gradually thicken up by the evening. An approaching warm front with remnants of what was tropical storm Gordon will be moving in with showers and some downpours by early Monday morning. With a wedge in place across New England, Monday will be cool with highs in the 60s and showers linger most of the day.
In the upper levels of the atmosphere, a ridge will build back over New England next week, bringing in warmer air. At the surface, ahead of a cold front, Tuesday will also be humid with dew points back to near 70. Spotty showers and thunderstorms are possible as this front moves through. Wednesday and Thursday, the front stalls to our south, so we won't be quite as humid, but still warm with highs in the 80s. There is also the chance for showers on Wednesday as well. All eyes will be on Florence, which should regain strength to a major hurricane and potentially take aim at the East Coast late next week.
