A few sprinkles can't be ruled out this afternoon and early evening, but mostly we are dry and mild. Clouds are giving way to some blue sky and breaks of sunshine this evening and skies should stay partly cloudy for a while tonight as high pressure builds into our area. Expect a cool night ahead with temperatures falling into the lower and middle 50s.

We will see some filtered sunshine on Saturday as high, thin clouds will be around most of the day. Expect a sunnier sky in Franklin County and clouds will be a bit more widespread farther south into Hampden Co. A nice day overall with dry weather, low dew points and slightly below normal temps in the lower to middle 70s. A nice northerly breeze in the afternoon will make the day and evening feel a bit cool. Saturday night actually gets chilly as the core of cool air moves overhead. Overnight lows drop into the 40s by sunrise!

High pressure will help keep Sunday dry and comfortable, but mild with highs in the middle to upper 60s in western Mass-a taste of fall! High clouds will be around again during the day and will gradually thicken up by the evening. An approaching warm front with remnants of what was tropical storm Gordon will be moving in with showers and some downpours by Monday morning. With a wedge in place across New England, Monday will be cool with highs in the 60s and showers linger most of the day.

In the upper levels of the atmosphere, a ridge will build back over New England next week, bringing in warmer air. At the surface, ahead of a cold front, Tuesday will also be humid with dew points back to near 70. Spotty showers and thunderstorms are possible as this front moves through. Wednesday and Thursday, the front stalls to our south, so we won't be quite as humid, but still warm with highs in the 80s. All eyes will be on Florence, which should regain strength to a major hurricane and potentially take aim at the East Coast late next week.
