After a dry, comfortable day yesterday it will begin to turn more humid today. The heat and humidity will build in for the start of the work week.
Today will feature sunshine once again mixing with clouds and it will begin to turn more humid. As a upper level disturbance approaches from New York it will weaken but may have just enough moisture associated with it to trigger an isolated shower or storm. Highs will top out in the lower 80s with dew points rising into the lower 60s.
Any showers will come to an end after sunset as we lose the heating of the day. Partly cloudy skies are on the way for tonight and we will have to watch out for some patchy fog. Lows tonight will fall back into the lower to middle 60s.
If you had to characterize this Summer in one word, you might choose - hot or hazy. Well western Mass is turning back to that summer we've become accustomed to early this week. Turning hazy, hot and humid just in time for many of the kids to head back to school. A ridge of high pressure over the Southeast will allow temperatures up and down the coast to soar into the lower 90s - a potential heat wave for Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday. Humidity will also get quite high with dew points back to the high 60s and even around 70 over this time as well. Heat indices will be in the upper 90s to near 100° on Tuesday and Wednesday. Heat advisories will probably be needed Tuesday and Wednesday afternoon. A front looks to linger to our north for a few days, then sink southward with some showers and heat relief by Thursday and Friday.
