Part of Mass. Pike closed after tractor-trailer fire

PALMER, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - A tractor-trailer fire has forced the closure of the westbound side of the Mass. Pike in Palmer.

MassDOT said the closure, near mile-marker 66, also impact the ramp from I-84 to the Pike.

Traffic is being detoured off the Mass. Pike west at exit 78 in Sturbridge and then directed to Route 20 west.

Drivers are urged to seek alternate routes as the impact to traffic is expected to last several hours.
