Group gathers to show support for trucker convoy

WEST SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - Dozens turned out in West Springfield on Wednesday to cheer on truckers who appear to be on their way to a convoy in Washington, D.C.

Similar to the recent convoy along the Canada/United States border, the purpose is to protest the COVID-19 mandates in the U.S.

“There’s a lot of us here who have pulled our kids from school due to those mandates and we are trying to fight with the truckers, with all of these other people to secure our freedoms,” said Christin, who attended the event.

Earlier in the day, this was the scene outside a truck stop in Whately. Dozens more came out to support the trucks and dressed up with American flags as they pulled into the area.
