The Weeknd donates $2 million to Gaza hunger relief efforts

(CNN) – Global recording artist The Weeknd is ramping up his efforts to help feed the people of Gaza.
The Weeknd, whose real name is Abel Tesfaye, has donated $2 million towards humanitarian hunger relief in the region.
Aside from his day job, The Weeknd also serves the role of United Nations World Food Programme Goodwill Ambassador.
The monetary support will help to bake 18 million loaves of bread, which can help feed more than 157,000 Palestinians for a month.
This donation from the singer’s humanitarian charity follows an original $2.5 million donated in December for emergency meals.
Tesfaye is now calling on fans to donate to the UN’s World Food Programme’s efforts in Gaza.
Anyone wanting to make a donation can do so at wfp.org.
