Springfield man arrested, drugs and guns seized following investigation

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Two guns and approximately 60 grams of cocaine were seized earlier this week after a months-long joint investigation between the FBI, Springfield, and Chicopee authorities.

Around 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, detectives were surveilling a residence on Atherton Street, after they were granted a search warrant, when they saw 28-year-old Johnadier Santiago of Springfield allegedly get into a car and drive away. Santiago was stopped near the intersection of Carew Street and Decker Place.

Detectives found more than $1,700 in cash in the car, along with 4.5 grams of cocaine, 17 bags of heroin and fentanyl, and 24 bags of crack-cocaine. After searching the house from which Santiago left, detectives found the two guns, along with over $1,000 in cash.

Santiago was arrested and is facing several drug and gun-related charges, including two felony counts.
