Greenfield victim identified in fatal concrete hopper accident

GREENFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - The identity of the man who died in a workplace accident on Friday morning in Greenfield has been released.

66-year-old Matthew Nedorostek of Westfield on Friday morning fell into a concrete hopper at a plant on Cleveland Street.

A Chicopee-based concrete company used the site as a place to mix dry ingredients for cement.

Nedorostek’s co-workers told Western Mass News that he had climbed to the top of a tower when they realized he appeared to be missing, and he did not answer a radio call.
