Fugitive from Connecticut arrested at Hadley parking lot

HADLEY, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - Police in Hadley arrested a Springfield man outside the Hampshire Mall on Thursday.

Officers were performing vehicle registration checks when they learned the owner of a parked, unoccupied car had an open warrant out of Connecticut, which meant he was eligible to be extradited over the border.

Using the man’s RMV photo, police were able to identify the car’s owner, 44-year-old Tomas Reyes, as he left JCPenney and took him into custody without incident. He was then charged with being a fugitive from justice.
