Vehicle crashes off I-91, goes down embankment

LONGMEADOW, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Multiple people have been transported to the hospital following a rollover crash on I-91 South in Longmeadow.

This happened close to the Connecticut border.

According to MA State Police in Springfield there were 2 vehicles involved and one went down an embankment.

The Longmeadow Fire Department told Western Mass News they were called to the scene at about 1:15 p.m.

“Longmeadow Fire crews are on the scene of a rollover accident on Interstate 91 SB near the CT line,” they reported on their Facebook page Tuesday afternoon.

We’re told there were several individuals who were sent to the hospital for injuries they sustained in the crash.

“4 people were transported to the hospital with non life threatening injuries,” noted the Longmeadow Fire Department.

This is not the first time firefighters have had to respond to the highway for an accident this week.

Longmeadow fire officials warning drivers amidst the July 4th holiday traffic, to stay safe out there on the roads.

“This is the 2nd accident in 48 hours for us on the interstate. As the holiday approaches, we ask that you drive safely on the roadways.”
