Springfield Thunderbirds hold Community Caravan at Amelia Park Ice Arena

WESTFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - The Springfield Thunderbirds held their third and final Community Caravan event at Amelia Park Ice Arena in Westfield on Saturday.

The event carried several different activities such as street hockey tournament, other interactive games, and several local food vendors.

The community caravan also accepted donations of non-perishable food items for the Westfield food pantry to help raise awareness of food insecurity in Western Massachusetts.

“After a fantastic continuation of the program last summer, we’re thrilled to bring back the Caravan and keep building on its success,” said Thunderbirds President Nathan Costa in a statement.
