East Longmeadow business holding food drive to help those in need

EAST LONGMEADOW, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - For the first time, GoGeeks Computer Rescue is looking to fill up their new food wagon.

Through December 15, they are accepting your nonperishable food items Mondays through Fridays from 10 a.m. to 6 p.m. and GoGeeks owner Stan Prager shared what inspired him to make a difference. “There was the issue with the possibility of SNAP benefits disappearing that kind of motivated me to step forward, but it’s something I’ve always wanted to do. I just didn’t really know what the appropriate way was to go about it because I have a lot of experience with computers, but I don’t have a lot of experience with this thing,” he said.

Prager thanked the community for all the food that has already been donated and said the amount so far weighs more than one hundred pounds. “While I was gone delivering it, a whole bunch more food came in, so everyday, people are coming in with bags of food. It’s just wonderful, it’s really heartwarming that there are people out there, our clients and others, who are just thinking about helping other people,” he explained.
