Baystate Children’s Hospital showcasing new Play Deck

SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) -- Baystate Children’s Hospital is unveiling a newly renovated space designed to help young patients heal through play.

The hospital is showcasing its updated “Play Deck”; a vibrant indoor and outdoor area on the pediatric unit.

Complete with a floor-to-ceiling mural, doctors say the area is a critical part of treatment, supporting the emotional and physical well-being of patients from infants up to age 22.

Officials say the goal is to provide a safe and nurturing environment that promotes hope and resilience during difficult medical journeys.
