MGM Springfield donates school supplies to Square One

SPRINGFIELD, MA (WGGB/WSHM) - It may be spring break for some, but MGM Springfield is making sure some students have the supplies they need to close out the school year.

On Wednesday, they donated two pallets of school supplies to Square One. In addition to the donation, MGM celebrated what they called “everyone’s birthday” where employees created more than 250 birthday cards for students throughout the year.

Both of these initiatives looked to support the organization’s education programs, activities, and the children and families they serve. “We donated two pallets of school supplies and gave every child cake and a special card for their special day,” said Jennifer McGrath, MGM Springfield’s Director of Philanthropy and Community Engagement. “Our staff volunteered and made over 300 birthday cards. Throughout the year, Square One will make sure every child gets a birthday card on their special day, as well as admin and faculty.”

Square One focuses on helping children and families build the foundation for lifelong learning and healthy development.
