SPRINGFIELD, Mass. (WGGB/WSHM) - Springfield Public Schools Superintendent Dr. Sonia Dinnall delivered her State of the Schools address on Friday.

The theme of the event seemed to be to build a road map for each school to follow to really help improve student performance. The event took place at St. Anthony’s cedars banquet hall on Island Pond Road where district leaders, educators, and community stakeholders gathered to discuss the future of education in Springfield. “We are here today to make sure everyone who’s invested in the wellbeing of our students has an opportunity to celebrate the past success and build on that foundation, so that we can be catapulted into the future success of our district and our students,” Dinnall said.

As for any insight into how Springfield Public Schools are doing as a whole, Dinall told us there are a number of data indicators that they look at and she said so far, so good and added that Springfield Public Schools are turning in the right direction in many areas and now, they are looking ways to grow in others.
