ENFIELD, Conn. (WGGB/WSHM) - The Our Lady of Mount Carmel Society’s Italian Festival is back in Enfield this weekend, celebrating its 100th anniversary. The festival dates back to 1926, when Italian immigrants in Thompsonville founded the society.

Organizers expect thousands of visitors over the weekend for Italian Food, Live Music, Games, And A Family Fun Zone. President Carl Sferrazza said it’s a chance to honor parents, grandparents, and that “lost generation” who started the tradition a century ago.

Admission is $5, with children 12 and under getting in free. The festival began Friday night and continues through Sunday.
